Dreamy Love

Its Valentine's soon. I have never been big on Valentines, but then I don't count myself as very romantic (The poor Husband...). But I understood the heartlifiting thing that is romance when I saw this item in this Etsy Shop.

It is a strangely simple, effective and beautiul idea and I think would make the most romantic valentine, much more so than flowers and chocolate or teddybears holding hearts (sorry if this is what you do at Valentines - it is just not my thing).

You supply the sentiments and they handwrite the valentine. In the style of Jane Austen, they fold and seal the envelope.

It is something special indeed.

Alas they were not available in this part of the world - well I haven't ask if they would send international - but me thinks it may be too late to get one hear anyway?

Productive Songbird

It has a funny time, not having any markets for the last couple of months. I have been making up a storm and now I am chomping at the bit for the 14th of February to come around so that I can show off my new things.

A few sneaky peaks to get the party started. These are all for sale, not loaded in Felt as I haven't had a chance but if there is something you want, let me know and i will create a listing.

Have a great weekend

Miss Pickering has a Floral Emporium

I was introduced to this blog by a lovely friend of mine. This lovely friend has visited this shop and was delighted with what she found. This lovely friend has a penchant for les fleurs(boy I am fancy today!) and while the flowers drawn you in, I soon realised is that Miss Pickering has talents that extend beyond the creation of beautful bouquets and flowers. Miss Pickering tells lovely tales (all true too) and her blog is worth a read.

The Hound features regularly and he is lovely.

I haven't been reading long enough to figure out the role of Mr Ferrari but he features - and seems to be a great cook who loves Formula One (here here) so he must be grand.

Flowers below are just a sample of the floral eye candy - and more - you will find at the Emporium. Check it out. You won't regret it.

Beauty and Function

I have always wished that I had a talent for drawing and illustration. Do you ever have the feeling when you are looking at a beautiful illustration that you can feel every line? Well that is exactly what I felt when I saw the work below on one of my favourite blogs, Thompson Family Life (Check it out if you don't already follow - Danielle is a genius).

Check out this beautiful calendar by Jen Oaks

Strangely, I had never thought about calendars as a way of having beautiful art around me, alternating over time - I know I am a bit vacant at times - but since I purchased my beautiful Sweet William Calendar (after reading about it and seeing the images on this blog post by Cat Taylor).

I am now officially addicted to calendars - well Beautiful calendars that is.

Beautiful

So today I was rummaging around my parents-in-laws house looking for props for photographing some new earrings and I came across the most beautiful embroidered and cross stitched table clothes. I love it when you come across beautiful things ferreted away in funny places.
They became props. Check them out below.

All now for sale in my Felt store. Total yumminess!

The beautiful Tui

On our trip to visit my mother at Christmas in W(h)anganui, we took some time to take the Child to Kowhai Park - this park is amazing. There are so many things for kids to do and even things for little ones.

But that is not what this is about.... As we were leaving we passed under the W(h)anganui Town Bridge and look what I found. A portrait of the Beautiful Tui. I love its look, its call and of course its name!!
