Too excited for words... almost!

I am so excited. I managed to purchase a most coveted piece of Black Apple 'wearable'. I had been reading about these via the Black Apple Blog and was disappointed that I missed out on the limited edition sale last week. THEN, Emily advised that there would be a limited pre-order sale on her Etsy Shop Monday Afternoon (US) time. I figured that would be late night NZ time so I got my fingers ready to make the purchase to find Etsy was down due to site maintenance... which meant that they wouldn't be loaded and ready for sale until the middle of the night NZ time. So I resigned myself to the fact that I would miss out again..... BUT NO! There was one piece left in my fav design this morning, and I nabbed it.. To excited for words.

Isn't it the most?, to say the least?
Have a great one

A satisfying end to the week

I have had an exciting week. A few new items for the Devonport Craft Fair in one week. Just putting on the finishing touches.
Only 2 weeks to go till Screen Printing class begins and I am very excited about that. Plus, I am booked to go and see "Handmade Nation" at the academy on 4/8 - and I am very excited about this. The Husband and I had a really interesting chat (over a lovely glass of vino) about the revival of handmade and craft. There are so many angles to it and I think someone clever could do some research and base their thesis on it...
The other exciting news is that I have managed to score a new retailer (YAY). Details to be posted once the retailer has launched their new venture.

I also have a new table to feature on my stand at the next market. I bought it off a fellow Devonport Craft Marketeer "Forgetmenotvintage". It is perfect. I am just getting some glass to fill in the bottom tier and we are ready to go! YAY. Before and after shots to be featured here soon.

I have also launched a Songbird Designs page on Facebook - I am really a Facebook novice so it has been quite an effort. Looking for fans now -not that I am desperate or anything :-) This is the link here.

Next big project is Wedding Favours for the lovely Jane and Erick. They have just arrived back in the country so consultation can begin. I have loads of possible ideas for them but now just need to nail down the final product and then let the fun begin!

Last thing for today is a handy tool from Leo on the Loose. A blog topics to post list. I have found it very handy to keep all my thoughts in one place.. They seem to fall out of my head as fast as I think of them unless I write them down. Hopefully you will find it useful too. Click here to find the download.

Ok really the last thing for today is some inspiration. A post is never complete with out an image and this one is just LOVELY! Available to purchase here by Coquette and Dove.

Enjoy.

My own little treasury!

Ok so I was inspired to look at "green" ideas. Here are a few things I found on ETSY. The pull together is not perfection but I will get there. See below to find the items details.
1. Yava Glass

Still thinking about what I will do!

Hello lovlies

So many things, such little time.

The child is at home today (and yesterday) with a rip snorter of a cold - his first! Poor thing. His Oma has kindly travelled to look after him while I am at work. At least now I know why he yelled at me all day on Sunday!
Due to this yelling, I was very very exhausted on Sunday and missed the inagural meeting of the Devonport Craft Market version of a book club... I must put some of my brain towards thinking of a name for it... I really wanted to go along as meeting other fellow crafters really reassures me that I am not alone in the crazy world that is crafting.
The lovely ladies (am assuming they were all ladies...) who managed to make it along came up with the great idea of theming the next meeting "Green". We all will take along something we have made using that theme and do a 'swap'. I LOVE IT. Now what to make........

One of my recent purchases came from a wonderful Melbourne based designer Heidiandseek (blog) (shop). I love her designs and I love her philosophy. I purchased the buttons (DIY; Buy Ethical and For the Love of Recycling) although I would love to but one of her pieces at some stage.

The last thing for today comes from the realms of "WHAT THE....." Check this out (CRAZY). I need not say anything else.

Till next time

Great day at the Devonport Markets

Well yesterday may have been funny with the weather but the markets were great. Lots of lovely people cruising through and some great product on sale. I had a table next to the lovely Joanna Bewg. We had a great day trading ideas.
People really loved the resin brooches which were a new item I have tried over the last few weeks. They still need some perfecting but they seemed to be well received (I only had one left!) So I will be making some more for the next markets.

My latest scanning of fav blogs led me to the lovely Black Apple and her extraordinary imagination. I purchased 3 of her prints for my one year wedding anniversary (paper) and I haven't looked at her work for ages but check out her wonderful world of Oddfellows Orphanage, Milkland and the Ordinary Forest. Oh to be so talented.

Well this is my last post as a FT Stay at home mum.... back to work part time tomorrow.....

I almost forgot!

There are some new bits and pieces for sale tomorrow at the Devonport Craft Market. I have some great new fabric and some bigger button brooches. There are also some resin brooches making their debut. The other new item is a not so new item for sale in a different way. There are some cute 'Hair tie' bouquets (made up of 3 different fabric button hair ties) for sale. These make a great gift and all sales of the bouquets get a free gift wrapping box to go with them!

Come and check it all out tomorrow between 10-2pm at the Devonport Community House, Clarence St Devonport.

Rumour has it that that amazing pumpkin soup will be on sale ($2!!) again!

Its been a while!

It has been a while since my last post. Mostly because the child and I have been away visiting Oma. We had a lovely time. I had loads of time to think and create and the child got enough cuddles to last till the next visit.

Some lovely things I found lately on the interweb are:
found on style.com from the latest Missoni collection.
The colours - YUM.

Now this house.... or room of this house featured on design sponge.

YUM!

We will be at the Devonport Craft Market this weekend. Some new bits and pieces, some lovely new fabrics. Come down and check us out.
